July 2024

July brings the end of the summer travel lacrosse season, but it also brings tryouts for the 2024-2025 season. Try outs were held for Blak Widow over two evenings. July 8 and July16. I felt fortunate and blessed to receive an offer for the 2024-2025 season shortly after tryouts concluded. I believe the coaching staff that has guided me this far has an intense focus on my development athletically, academically and personally as a young man, and I am eternally grafeful to continue to be a part of this fantastic organization. We played our final tournament of the summer at the Pinnacle Lacrosse Championships in Boyds, MD. We fell short of our goal of winning a championship, but learned so many lessons about ourselves as a cohesive unit, and are focused on improving and getting right back it in the upcoming fall season.

On the wrestling front, I attended TNT wrestling camp at Kutztown University from July 21 through July 24 with my Boyertown Area High School Teammates. The camp was focused on technique as well as a dual team round robin tournament, in which pool competition took place at different times each day between technique clinics. I enjoyed focusing on wrestling from top position, transitioning into different tilts to accumulate back points which will be a big part of overall strategy with the new scoring rules adopted by the PIAA for the 2024-2025 season and beyond.

Personally, I enjoyed celebrating some important birthdays in July. My own on July 7, my mom’s on July 18 and my sister’s on July 23 (Even though I was at wrestling camp for my sister’s, I still called her.) I also continued my summer reading assignments, and spent multiple days at hometown gym, Final Results Fitness, working through their comprehensive program designed for wrestlers.
